1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ThirdSlate platform ("Service"), operated by ThirdSlate Technologies Inc. By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. User Accounts

To access certain features (including document upload, chat, and question generation), you must create an account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

ThirdSlate does not store your passwords in plain text and will never ask you to share them. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately.

3. Acceptable Use

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or university academic integrity policy;
• Upload materials you do not have the rights to share;
• Attempt to interfere with the platform’s operation or security;
• Distribute harmful, misleading, or malicious content.

We reserve the right to investigate and restrict access if we believe your usage violates these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property

All platform content and underlying technology, including software, interface design, and AI-generated features, are the intellectual property of ThirdSlate Technologies Inc. or its licensors. You retain ownership of documents you upload, but grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and analyze that content solely to provide the Service.

5. Academic Integrity & User Responsibility

ThirdSlate is designed as a study aid to promote comprehension and critical thinking. It is your responsibility to ensure your use of the Service complies with your institution’s academic integrity policies. Misusing the platform to submit AI-generated content as original work may be considered academic misconduct.

ThirdSlate is not liable for consequences arising from user behavior that violates institutional or legal policies.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you are violating these Terms or misusing the platform.

7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. ThirdSlate does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated responses or question sets and disclaims liability for damages resulting from reliance on such content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThirdSlate is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

8. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our service or legal obligations. Updated Terms will be posted on the platform. Continued use after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
